Dimitar Vasilev participates in initiatives for raising funds for Father Ivan's home in Novi han. People with difficult life situations come to Father Ivan. Many of them are orphaned children, who after reaching the age of adulthood remain on the streets without shelter and livelihood.
The House "Sveti Nikolay" in the village of Novi Khan began construction in 1988 in the courtyard of "Holy Trinity" Church under the management and control of the Church Board. The home is maintained and equipped only with aid and donations.
In the homes of Father Ivan in the village of Novi Khan, Elin Pelin and in the village of Yakimovo, Montana, the people in need can find shelter, warm food, clothing and live until they are settled.
Father Ivan's aim is to provide those in need not just with temporary shelter, but to train them to take care of their own livelihoods by cultivating the yards and available farmland.
