Statement on the European Commission’s FP10 proposal

🚀 A pivotal moment for European innovation

The European Innovation Council (EIC) Board has released its official statement on the European Commission’s FP10 proposal — and the message is clear: Europe is doubling down on innovation.

💡 The Board welcomes the Commission’s strong commitment to a standalone innovation pillar centred around the EIC, backed by a proposed 3.5× budget increase — a bold step to strengthen Europe’s leadership in deep tech and entrepreneurship.

This vision ensures that the EIC remains independent, reinforces the full innovation journey — from research to scale-up — and enhances Europe’s ability to turn breakthrough ideas into global impact.

At the same time, the statement highlights several key areas to be refined:
🔹 Reflows to the EIC Fund
🔹 Implementation of the ARPA-like Challenge model
🔹 Synergies with the ERC and Pillar II
🔹 Expansion of the Transition instrument

FP10 is not just another framework — it’s a chance to redefine Europe’s innovation future, giving our entrepreneurs, researchers, and startups the tools to scale globally while keeping excellence rooted in Europe.
